Tomorrow night for Connection Point, we will be doing the Lord’s Supper all together in the auditorium at 7pm. At 7:30pm, we will head over to Zel’s Roast Beef to fellowship and eat. We will be doing this new format in an attempt to more closely resemble what Jesus did and wanted concerning the Lord’s Supper. The Scriptural context, to me and our deacons, really seems to be more of a literal supper environment and not a church service environment. The original plan was for us all to just meet at a restaurant at 7pm and do the Lord’s Supper. However, I don’t want people to feel like they have to have money to eat at a restaurant to be able to do the Lord’s Supper at our church. So we will be meeting at the church at 7pm so that anyone is welcomed to do the very important mandate of Jesus (Lord’s Supper). It will be informal. I will be looking to take testimonies from the crowd. It will be an enjoyable time of making Christ the focal point. After we finish the Lord’s Supper around 7:30pm, everyone will be invited to cross the parking lot to Zel’s Roast Beef where we will eat and fellowship. I suppose many will have already eaten dinner by then. Zel’s sells floats and shakes if many will want to just do dessert. Although, of course, they do sell food as well if anyone wants that option. We will briefly do the Lord’s Supper at church. We will then spend time together fellowshipping and eating at Zel’s. That is the game plan. I hope you can come! Liz and I would love to spend time with you! Let’s go out of our way to worship Christ and let’s go out of our way to be there for each other. Let’s hear each other’s stories. Let’s share each other’s pain. Let’s be the church. We don’t need to live on an island of loneliness behind our phone screens. Let’s get out of the house in the name of Jesus and do something worthwhile tomorrow night! This Sunday will be the send-off service for my family as we will be leaving for a month-long sabbatical very soon. I will send out another email at the end of the week to talk more about these details. On Sunday, I will be giving as many details as I can about our trip and about the full game plan for our church family while we are away. We will miss you all! Next Wednesday, June 26, our congregation will be doing a budget vote for the new fiscal year. I will be talking more about that briefly on Sunday as well. In Christ Together, Pastor Jon

Happy Father's Day! We are giving away a really neat tool to the men of our church today. See you soon!

Our theme was, "Game On." Our spiritual theme was, "A Gospel-focused Child." It went great!

Tonight at Connection Point, the adults are going to dive into Acts 1, while the kids and workers kick off Vacation Bible School. See you at 7pm!

Our Vacation Bible School begins tomorrow night! Here are more details on what we will be doing: The theme will be “Game On.” The spiritual theme will be, “A Gospel-focused Child.” Wednesday, June 12: Kids Movie Night from 7pm to 8pm. Snacks provided. Thursday, June 13: This will be the main event for VBS. It will go from 9am to 2pm. 1. The Kids Worship Service will kick off the day from 9am to 10am. 2. The Olympics will go from 10am to 11am. The kids will be competing in different sporting events on the church lawn. 3. Small groups will take place from 11am to 11:30am. 4. Chick-fil-a lunch provided from 11:30am to noon. 5. We will take the kids on an Adventure Hike from noon to 1pm. We will walk as a group to some nearby woods to research the topic of, “Finding the Gospel in nature.” 6. We will wrap up Thursday with a Talent Show from 1pm to 2pm. Kids will have the opportunity to use their gifts and talents to share the Gospel using their voice, making a craft, or other ways in this fun filled event. We are currently getting new flooring put into the downstairs hallways of the church. Because of this, we do not have access to the kids ministry, nursery, or bathrooms. We will not be able to do church this evening. Hope you all can enjoy some extra family time tonight while knowing that our church is taking a step up at the same time. See you Sunday!

Three quick Saturday night tidbits about South Point: 1. Our spring big days went really well! We all had a great time. We had many visitors come to our church. I am very happy with how it went and I can’t wait for next year! 2. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day! Every woman over the age of 18 will receive a rose and a gourmet piece of chocolate. We appreciate our Moms! Tomorrow in the 11am service, we will be doing our annual Baby Dedication Service. We’ve got four little ones lined up and we can’t wait to have the deacons and myself pray over them in the service. Tomorrow is going to be a special day! 3. One week from today, Saturday, May 18, there will be a Ladies Tea Party hosted at the home of Sally Reichelt in Merrillville. We hope that all of the ladies of our church will attend! Feel free to invite a friend who doesn’t attend our church. We will give more specific details tomorrow in the service.
